COMMISSIONS AND DISCOUNTS: 15% commission on gross rates listed above to advertising agencies And 15% discount to those clients on a 3x, 4x or 6x contract. Discounts will not be given if ads are not ready for press.
Contract and Content Regulations
ADVERTISING RESPONSIBILITY
Advertisers and their agencies assume liability for all content of advertisements printed and assume responsibility for any claims which may arise from their advert- tising. The publisher reserves the right to reject any advertising. Publisher is not liable for errors in key numbers or the advertising index.
CLOSING DATES AND CANCELLATIONS
If copy is not received by the closing date and the insertion order has not been cancelled, the previous advertisement of the advertiser will be inserted. Cancellations are not accepted after the closing date. Cancellations of any portion of a contract voids rate guarantee.
RATES
Advertising must be inserted within one year of the first insertion to earn the contract frequency discount rate. If the number of insertions is not specified on the order or the contract, each insertion will be billed at the one-time rate (1X). Advertising ordered at a frequency discount rate and not earned within one year from the first insertion will be billed at earned rate or will be short-rated. Mixed ad sizes and the addition of color (at the appropriate additional charge) are permitted in the contract period; however, ads may only increase in size.

LATE PAYMENT CHARGES A service charge of 1.5% per month
will be added.

Architecture Minnesota is printed on a web
press on 60# white, coated stock. Covers are 100# Recovery. The magazine
is perfect bound. Ink is soy-based. ADS MUST BE READY FOR PLACEMENT
(ad is complete). NO PREPRESS.
4 COLOR PROCESS - 175 line screen. Overall maximum density
of all colors not to exceed 280%
BLACK & WHITE ADS - Black and white EPS files of TIFF files in grayscale mode.
MEDIA - CDs
FILE FORMATS: MAC FORMAT ONLY. QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop andPDF’s are accepted. NOTE: If sending a PDF from a QuarkXPress file, it must be made with Acrobat Distiller ONLY (not exported directly). Other programs listed above can be exported directly to a PDF. If sending original files, be sure to include all images and fonts used.
IMAGES/SCANS 300 dpi saved as a TIFF or EPS. Images provided on a disk must be in a CMYK format and color corrected. NOT ACCEPTED - Spot, Pantone/PMS, RGB color, or JPEG images and images below 300 dpi (such as from a website – 72 dpi).
ACCEPTED FONTS - Postscript Type 1 or Type 3. NO TrueType fonts accepted. Use stylized fonts and do not use menu-styled fonts for bold, italic, or bolt italic type. All fonts used in art files (EPS and TIFF) must be converted to outlines. All printer and screen fonts MUST BE INCLUDED with all digital files.
When creating PDFs, make sure all fonts are embedded.
LOGOS AND ARTWORK should be EPS. Avoid rotation and cropping of images in layout programs. Do not nest EPS files in other EPS files. All color MUST BE CMYK.
