Established in 1988, the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area includes 72 miles of the Mississippi River stretching from the cities of Dayton and Ramsey to just south of Hastings, Minnesota.
Paul Labovitz, Superintendent of the Mississippi National River & Recreation Area, will provide background and information regarding this interesting unit of the National Park System designated in 1988 that recognizes the national significance of the Mississippi River as one of the United States special places. Attendees will hear the results of the park's recently completed strategic plan and the big ideas that provide focus for National Park Service activities over the next few year. The audience will hear about new programs emerging as ways the park serves Twin Cities residents and visitors. Finally Paul will talk about issues faced by the park and how architecture and design play a role in helping minimize impacts to park resources relating to river corridor development.

Register by noon on Wednesday, February 17. Registration is free to all, unless you RSVP and do not attend, in which case you will be billed $12.
Continuing Education:
CE credits will not be offered with this luncheon presentation.
Cost:
If you are an AIA member, the lunch is free unless you RSVP and do not attend, you will be invoiced $12.00 for the meal. Non-AIA members should pay at the door. This luncheon is a buffet luncheon by D'Amico Catering.
