Architects Are Accessible

Whether you are interested in finding out how/if a commercial architect can help you with a larger scale or community project; or looking into using an architect for a small-scale remodel, renovation or home, AIA is the right place to start. AIA Minnesota, as a community of members who share similar professional interests, benefits from a collective voice and conduct.  Through AIA Minnesota, we hold juries, award programs, publish a magazine, lobby for laws governing architecture and support continuing education for our members.  We do these things to improve the profession, call out what is best practice, be the forum for discussion and educate ourselves and the public

Other ways to learn more include subscribing to Architecture Minnesota and referencing our AIA Minnesota publications on Working with an Architect. And don't forgot to search the Firm Directory, updated annually in April.  It provides extensive search capabilities and listings of firms' most recent projects.

Residential

AIA Minnesota's residential architect community is very active. From consultations and awards programs to most recently, the Homes by Architects Tour, the community of architects available to the public in Minnesota is talented and diverse.  Become familiar with the Home of the Month program, published in the StarTribune's first Saturday of the month Homes section; attend the annual RAVE Awards program in July; and get a ticket for the Homes by Architects Tours in September 2009. See the Residential Architects Committee page.
