2017 Call for Entries
In partnership with Midwest Home magazine, this award is given annually to an emerging residential architect who demonstrates an innovative approach to design, the emergence of a unique architectural voice, and a developing mastery of architecture.
The recipient is profiled in the April/May issue of Midwest Home magazine and honored at an awards program recognizing the Emerging Talent of the Year and Architect of Distinction award recipients.

$60 per entry. Payment can be made at the conclusion of the online submission process via credit card.
AIA Minnesota members who are in good standing and have been licensed to practice architecture for 10 or fewer years by the submission deadline are eligible.
A candidate may self-submit or any current AIA member may nominate another eligible individual.
In all cases, a 300-word description of the candidate’s unique design philosophy and approach to architecture must be provided, along with examples of three built, single-family residential projects that illustrate the candidate’s design philosophy and a 100-word description of each project. Candidates must have worked as principal or lead designer responsible for the majority of the work on all three submitted projects. If the candidate was not a principal or owner of the firm during work on any of the submitted projects, a Declaration of Authorship must be completed and submitted.

For candidates nominated by a colleague or professional peer, a letter of nomination is also required.
All materials must be submitted using AIA Minnesota’s online awards platform by the entry deadline of Monday, February 6, 2017 by 5:00 pm CDT.
Submissions must remain anonymous; no mention of the candidate’s name or firm may appear in images, descriptions, or supporting materials. Candidate's name and personal information will not be visible to jurors during the review process.

All submissions will be considered and reviewed via a blind jury process that is monitored by an AIA Minnesota staff member. Each juror's opinions will carry equal weight in the process.
