Description of Work
General Statement of Duties
Under supervision, performs highly technical professional architectural work in the investigation, design, inspection, operation and maintenance of public buildings and performs related work as assigned.
This position will be posted until October 21.
College graduation with a degree in architecture or architectural engineering and two years’ experience as an Architect 1 or equivalent (no substitution for forty credits in architectural design or construction courses); or must be registered as a Professional Architect or Architectural Engineer in the State of Minnesota.
The listed examples may not include all the duties performed by all positions in this class.
Supervises and assists in preparing plans, designs, specifications and estimates of building projects.
Examines plans and specifications for public buildings prepared by private architects and engineers and recommends changes.
Inspects the construction of public buildings.
Confers with department heads in regard to the cost of construction, repair and alteration of buildings.
Examines and approves plans, details and specifications for the construction, repair and alteration of buildings for safety and conformance to the building code.
Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
This is a full-time 12 month position.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the PEA negotiated labor agreement. The labor agreement and salary schedule can be found at http://hr.spps.org/Labor_Agreements.html. The minimum rate of pay for this position is $54,826 annually.
