Description

The Assistant Vice President for Capital Project Management (CPM) has responsibility for capital project management across the University of Minnesota system. The Assistant Vice President leads a staff of 27 (including the University Architect) with a budget of approximately $3 million supported by O&M funds and project fees. CPM has system-wide responsibility for design and construction of all new and existing buildings, utility infrastructure, and fixed equipment. In FY2018, there are approximately 350 ongoing projects valued at $1.9 billion. The University’s annual capital budget ranges from $70 million to $250 million. The Assistant Vice President for CPM provides decision support to the Vice President for University Services as well as University leadership in the development of the institution’s capital plan through the Capital Strategy Group and the Capital Oversight Group. The Assistant Vice President reports directly to the Vice President for University Services and serves on the University Services leadership team.

Anticipated Salary Range: $170,000.00 – $185,000.00

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, planning, business administration, or related field is required. A graduate degree is preferred.
At least ten (10) years of experience in planning, engineering, or construction management is required, with a minimum of six years in a leadership role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in procurement, contracts, reporting, and human resource management in the public sector or higher education is strongly preferred.
Planning, engineering, or construction management experience in or with a public sector or higher education setting is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated successful leadership and direction of an enterprise with a diverse portfolio of related services.
