Hear a panel discussion of activity and progress in rebuilding in the areas affected in the unrest after the murder of George Floyd. The panel will consist of developers, architects, and community development professionals involved in a handful of the more prominent projects that are currently in the works, including the Coliseum Building.
The discussion will highlight recent work by AIA Minnesota with the History, Hurdles, and Hope program to generate a rich and inclusive conversation around how to develop in a socially diverse and inclusive manner that proactively and positively shapes the physical, economic, and social future of communities.
Panelists include Andy Hestness, executive director of Seward ReDesign; Alicia Belton, FAIA, principal at Urban Design Perspectives; and Alondra Cano, former member of the Minneapolis City Council. Paul Bauknight will moderate the conversation.
