Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis has been serving the poorest and most vulnerable members of our communities for more than 145 years. Today, it is the largest comprehensive social service nonprofit in the metro, serving thousands of people through 35 different programs in 20 locations.
The AIA Minnesota Housing Advocacy Committee is sponsoring a tour of their new facility, Higher Ground St. Paul, which opened in January of 2017 and helps move the mindset of addressing homelessness from crisis management to one of long-term solutions that stabilize lives.
The facility provides a dignified emergency shelter for 280 women and men and a range of permanent housing options for 193 people—including many long-term homeless individuals and veterans. Tour will be led by Higher Ground Staff and representatives from Cermak Rhoades and Watson-Forsberg.
