Lecture by Senior Engineer Larry Morgan of TKDA Engineering & Architecture Planning. Tour guides say it is the question they hear most often: How did they do it? In the age of mule carts, shovels and hand tools, how did the tradesmen of a hundred years ago build the Cathedral of Saint Paul? Larry Morgan will answer the question, share historic photos and archival construction plans as well as many anecdotes.
A reception will immediately follow.
Morgan has been an engineer with TKDA Engineering, Architecture and Planning for 37 years. Morgan is uniquely positioned to give this talk because TKDA, formerly Tolz Engineering Company of Saint Paul, designed and built the Cathedral’s original boiler system, which still provides the church with heat today.
The lecture and reception is sponsored by Cathedral Heritage Foundation as part of the Cathedral’s Centennial Year. This event is free and open to the public.
