Mike Lydon is the founding Principal of The Street Plans Collaborative, an award-winning planning, design, and research-advocacy firm based in Miami, New York City, and San Francisco. Mike is an internationally recognized planner, writer, speaker, and advocate for livable cities, particularly on the topics of smart growth, tactical urbanism, and complete streets/active transportation. Mike collaborated in the writing of The Smart Growth Manual (2009); is the creator and primary author of the The Open Streets Project (2012) and co-author of Tactical Urbanism: Short-term Action for Long-term Change, published by Island Press in 2015 and named by Planetizen as one of the top 10 planning books of the year.
