The love of the lakes and a rare wooded site in Linden Hills drew these homeowners in from the suburbs to the city. Recent empty nesters, the homeowners wanted to focus on their love for hosting and their desire for recreation, dining, and entertainment, which are all now within walking distance of their new home.

The clean lines and simple material choices lend a calm, serene environment that is filled with sunlight all day long. The sunlight is treated as artwork in the home with three vertical strips of sand blasted glass, each one illuminated by the sun at different times of the day. Changing the main level wood headers with raw steel channel structural supports give the main level a loft-like feel. Using matching raw steel plates for the fireplace mantels, and stained white oak flooring bring the materials of this home into a calm, peaceful, cohesive whole.
