Parking will be available along Ozark Ave N. Due to road width, no vehicle access will be allowed on Oakland rd. A 500-foot (0.1 mi) walk on a gravel road will be required from Ozark Ave N to the front door. Special accommodations can be made for those unable to walk.
Unlike most residential design projects, which involve only one family, this project had five clients—siblings and spouses—who wanted to build a legacy family cabin on Square Lake near Stillwater.
The deceptively spacious cabin features four master suites, two bunkrooms, two dining rooms, an exercise room, a media room and decks with spectacular views of the lake. Inside, a massive double-sided fireplace made of dry-stacked Halquist stone, countertops made of extremely rare Crowsfoot stone, character-grade oak floors, oversized chandeliers and other details bring a sense of rustic luxury to the cabin.
To accommodate this programming, the architects massed the house as two separate wings connected by links: one to house the bedrooms, the second for dining and entertaining, and a garage. All is balanced carefully on the undulating site to maximize views of the lake.
