James McNeal Architecture and Design
With a stonemason as the homeowner, the architect was challenged to design a home that truly shows off what stone can do. The result is a home that invokes Richardsonian-style architecture, with inspiration from the Cotswald area of England.
In addition to the impressive stonework, the owner’s interest in industrial architecture led to the incorporation of steam-punk art and metal accents throughout the home. All design details are installed for a purpose, and are made of either steel, wood, stone or glass. The resulting aesthetic invokes a timeless manor house that looks across a creek into a massive marsh.
