Submissions for the 2024–2025 Home of the Month program are now closed. The selected projects will be announced at an event on Wednesday, May 1 at Glass House. Get tickets »

The selection panelists for the 2024 program are Anjali Ganapathy, Assoc. AIA, NOMA; Wanjing Ji, ASLA; Rohan Preston (Star Tribune); Donovan Nelson, AIA; Nancy Ngo (Star Tribune); and Joan Soranno, FAIA.

Through this partnership between AIA Minnesota and the Star Tribune, each year 12 architect-designed residential projects are selected from among a competitive pool of submissions to be the subject of a monthly feature article in the Star Tribune’s Sunday Homes & Gardens section reaching more than 550,000 readers. The 2024 program begins in June and ends in May 2025. The articles appear in the Star Tribune’s print and digital publications.

The Home of the Month program is not an awards program, but rather seeks to showcase a broad range of residential project styles, types, and budgets. The elements of the submission should convey a compelling story and illustrate the architectural innovation, response to the program, and distinguishing features of the project.

NEW this year: Due to increasing costs, the submission fee has been raised to $140. We have also added a question about sustainable design elements/processes to the submission form.

Homeowners are required to give their consent for their project to be submitted, including agreeing to be interviewed and quoted with their first and last name printed in the Star Tribune article, per Star Tribune editorial policy, if their home is selected. Download the Homeowner Consent Form »

The 12 selected projects are announced at the Home of the Month event, which also features a panel of client-architect pairs. This year’s event will be on the evening of Wednesday, May 1, at Glass House. All submissions, regardless if they are selected for this year’s article series or not, will be featured in a Look Book distributed in print to event attendees and digitally to our residential mailing list.
