The Heritage Preservation Commission of the City of Saint Paul and the Saint Paul Chapter of the American Institute of Architects are co-sponsoring the twenty-third annual Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Awards to recognize projects, individuals and organizations that enhance and celebrate Saint Paul’s cultural resources. The 2013 awards will be presented at an evening event as part of a month-long celebration during National Preservation Month. The Housing Advocacy Committee invites you to join us Saturday, May 11 from 9am to 2:30pm for a service and charrette day. Working with Hawthorne Neighborhood Council, Urban Homeworks, University of Minnesota's College of Design, Accenture, HandOn Twin Cities, and many members of the community, we will be helping to build and develop designs for the Kwanzaa Community garden and storage/work shed at 21st Avenue and Dupont Street. We will work from 9am to Noon at the Kwanzaa Community garden at 21st and Dupont with a break for lunch. We will then assist in a 1-2 hour charrette at 2314 N 4th Street to develop the design of a shed there that will act as storage, presentation space, and rain catchment vehicle for the site.When: Build location: 21st and Dupont St, Mpls Charrette Location: 2314 North 4th St, Mpls
