MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, business or related field. •Demonstrated senior level administrative experience in facilities management. •Ten years supervisory experience including experience hiring, evaluating, supervising and training staff. •Demonstrated experience providing successful leadership in facilities management, capital project planning, budget management, staff supervision and the design and construction of large scale capital projects. •Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently, excellent organizational and delegation skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a higher education environment. •Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. •Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills and the ability to interact with a broad range of people are essential for the position. •Experience leading and managing change in a large and complex organization. •A collaborative, team oriented style and team builder. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The University of North Dakota (UND), the oldest and largest university in North Dakota, is one of the nation’s premier regional public research universities. With an enrollment of over 15,000 students, UND is home to highly regarded medical, law, and aviation schools. One of the largest employers in the Grand Forks area, UND has a staff of over 2,700 employees. The Associate Vice President for Facilities (AVP) will provide proactive facilities leadership support for a growing campus. Reporting directly to the vice president for Finance and Operations, the AVP will have direct responsibility for construction management, facilities maintenance and repair, oversight of architecture, engineering and construction service providers, utilities distribution, facilities planning, environmental stewardship, custodial, landscape and other maintenance services. The AVP is responsible for ensuring the overall efficiency of campus facility operations. The campus includes five locations, over 549 acres of land and over 6 million square feet of space with 27 miles of sidewalks, five miles of roads, 239 buildings and 300 vehicles.
