The Assistant Director, Project Delivery will, working closely with and under direction from the department Director, initiate, schedule, and implement a broad range of aviation related projects and programs outlined in the MAC Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The position is responsible for the administration of, and the cost/budgeting accountability for, Commission approved development projects at MSP and the Reliever Airports. Technical responsibilities include working directly with architectural, engineering, and construction management consultants and overseeing the development of project studies, plans, specifications, and reports pertaining to CIP projects. Acting as a team leader, the Assistant Director, Project Delivery will oversee and coordinate other professional staff. This position works closely with the Director of Airport Development to provide direction and support to the project management staff and assists the Director with department strategic planning, budgeting, change management, providing construction feedback, and other departmental operations. Management of direct reports will include staff professional development, setting and documenting goals, and measuring performance as part of the employee review process. In addition, this position will work closely with other MAC departments, municipalities, airport tenants and other governmental jurisdictions. Other responsibilities will include directing consultants in the preparation of feasibility studies and preliminary reports to establish costs, priorities and timing for projects in the CIP, assisting with Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) applications to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and maintaining a pavement management system for the airports.
