Pope Design Group is seeking a passionate and ambitious Designer that seeks to make a positive and impactful difference in our community through the spaces we create. In this position you will be working closely with project team members, along with an integrated team of design professionals developing design concepts into high quality documents for our clients. Housing Team:
Our Housing market sector practices broadly. This position will provide an opportunity to collaborate with integrated design teams on multi-family and affordable housing, senior living, assisted Living, and skilled nursing, projects of various sizes and complexity. Team members can react positively to a variety of design priorities, styles, and project delivery methods.
Responsibilities Include:
• You will perform architectural design and documentation work for projects involving construction of new buildings, additions and the alteration of existing buildings and facilities.
• Assist project team with translating design concepts into workable construction systems and evaluating alternatives to develop solutions.
• Uses the company’s established techniques, procedures, and equipment to prepare project documents. Work with others to design, compile data, conduct field verifications, and prepare documentation/plans and renderings.
• Coordinate specifications and drawings, including consultant coordination and can make independent decisions for projects and project teams.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination of project activities with clients, consultants, contractors, and staff.
• Conduct material research under direction and begin to develop an awareness of building codes. Reviews general submittals under supervision.
• Maintains records to document phases of client/architect/contractor relationship and activities.
Client Interface:
• The project team all work together on developing a positive relationship of trust with our clients and fostering a commitment to external and internal client service.
• May work with project team members, consultants and clients to confirm objectives and formulate options; may attend and assist with client meetings and visit job sites with other members of the team.
Your Skills, Experience and Competencies:
• Professional Degree in Architecture required (on path to licensure).
• 3-7 years of relevant experience. Prior multi-family housing experience a plus.
• Experience with Revit required. Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite and Rendering software a plus.
• Ability to work from designs/drawings of others to prepare architectural plans and renderings, with a good design sense and the proven ability to produce and share successful design ideas using digital media and other tools.
• Committed to learning about the field of architecture and design and incorporating the knowledge into day-to-day business practices.
• Open to constructive feedback and implements feedback into resolutions.
• Passion and drive for architectural practice, proactive communicator that works well independently and with a team.
Salary & Benefits:
Compensation for the Designer role will be based on candidates work experience, education and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of an offer. Individuals in this role working more than 32 hours a week are eligible to participate in our benefit programs which include bonuses, profit sharing, 401K contributions, paid time off, continuing education, paid licensure & professional memberships as well as medical, dental, vision, life and short/long term disability programs. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment allowing employees to work remotely two days a week.
