Electrical Commissioning Engineer

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for confirming the proper operation of building systems and equipment for specified projects that include electrical power and monitoring systems. In this role the Electrical Commissioning Engineer will develop and execute commissioning plans for a variety of projects. You will be tasked with troubleshooting, QA/QC of drawings and specifications, research & investigation, field survey, and report writing. This is an excellent opportunity for an experience Commissioning Engineer.

Electrical Commissioning Engineer Responsibilities:
Perform pre-design and design reviews
Develop/assist in the development of commissioning plans and schedules
Create testing scripts
Perform verification of pre-functional contractor activities
Perform site observations of contractor progress and provides documentation of findings
Represent the commissioning agenda/plan at construction meetings
Administer functional tests including troubleshooting electrical systems
Maintain detailed documentation as basis for communication, correction and final report
Maintain a test deficiency & resolution log
Assist/facilitate the training of owners and owner’s personnel in the operational and maintenance aspects of the commissioned systems
Assist in preparing final commissioning reports
May assist with reviewing, revising, or creating commissioning specifications
Assist the design staff in identifying single sources of failure for critical systems

Electrical Commissioning Engineer Qualifications:
Bachelors or Associates Degree in electrical engineering or design of electrical systems
Minimum of 5 years of commissioning experience
Thorough understanding of electrical power systems and the use of electrical test equipment such as load banks, breaker test equipment, relay test equipment, power quality meters, insulation test equipment, etc.; demonstrated knowledge of design and construction codes and building automation systems
Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and as a part of a team
Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed for projects
Familiarity with lighting control systems and fire alarm systems is desired, but not required
Cx certifications, LEED accreditation, and additional certifications are desired, but not required
