Facilities Designer

Konik PrimeStaff has partnered with a large, high-profile client in the Minneapolis area that’s seeking a seasoned Facilities Designer to join their fun team on a long-term contract basis. We’re seeking a Facilities Designer to assist on a wide variety of office and building types. You’ll work with multiple departments on projects involving office move coordination including planning, design, interior construction, occupancy, and closeout. You’ll get to assist and oversee projects from beginning to end, including programming, space planning, pricing, project budget, ordering assets, coordinating install, install plans, directing work of vendors, and invoicing.

You’ll work with the team to:
Produce layout alternatives that balance customer needs with approved standards and guidelines utilizing AutoCAD.
Select and specify interior finishes, furnishings fixtures, and equipment
Procurement and installation of furnishings and equipment
Simultaneously manage multiple projects that are of significant size and nature from start to finish including programming, budget development, design, implementation, procurement of goods and services, financial management, project documentation and project close out.
Coordinate with internal and external resources to manage day to day request for changes and alternations to space and furniture including ergonomics requests
Develop and manage project schedule including coordinating with contractors, subcontractors and internal resources
All project communication with client and vendors to ensure the project is completed on budget and promptly

You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Interior Design or related degree required
Understanding and experience with furniture systems and ability to specify products required
5+ years’ experience as a Facility Designer working on corporate office spaces
Space planning and AutoCAD skills required
CAFM experience preferred
Excellent customer service, strong communication, attention to detail, and prompt follow through
Experience with Steelcase Avenir, Maximo and project cost accounting preferred
This position will require some lifting of product; must be able to lift up to 50 LBS
A valid Driver’s License is required. You will be provided with a company van to go to client sites.
