We have an opening in our Saint Paul office for Workplace Interior Designer with with a passion for thoughtful, forward-thinking design who will be working together with our clients and talented internal teams.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator who is able to think both analytically and creatively and complement BWBR’s processes. Candidate excels at maintaining long term client relationships, possesses strong project management leadership, and is intellectually curious and comfortable with ambiguity and complex challenges. A flexible team player, values personal relationships, and can profitably lead multiple internal teams in a collaborative and progressive open environment.

• Serve clients as a trusted advisor through strong, engaging relationships.
• Participate in developing proposal content, support or lead work scope, work effort planning, fee estimates, interview preparation, etc.
• Cultivate meaningful relationships with all team members to best support client/project goals, including:
• Client/owner leadership and stakeholders
• Fellow employees in all BWBR office locations
• Client’s third-party providers such as owner’s reps, contractors, and specialty consultants
• Execute workplace strategy including client visioning, programming, stacking diagrams, design concepts, plan and workstation layouts, furniture solutions, and illustrations to communicate workplace strategy options tailored to each client’s unique needs.
• Collaborate with design team members to translate design strategies into visual concepts that express innovative ideas and complex strategic information in simple and thoughtful ways, helping to guide clients in decision making within the context of their project goals.
• Form cultural insights for each client’s organization; develop visual tools to communicate change management strategies and implementation plans to enable successful transitions.
• Provide wide-ranging deliverables and products that meet deadlines and quality expectations within prescribed budget parameters.
• Work with multidisciplinary internal teams across a range of industries including: higher education, healthcare, government, and recreational facilities.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Leadership capabilities including conflict management and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic driven by a client-service attitude.
• Passion for strategic and creative problem solving.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Comfort in translating large data sets into compelling findings.
• Ability to present and articulate ideas and analyses.
• Outstanding listening, written and oral communication skills.
• Authentic and enthusiastic team player.
• Strong visual, creative and communications skills required.
• Significant experience with change management and workplace strategy methodologies and processes.
• Experience with the WELL Building Standard is a plus.

Required Technical Skills
• Advanced expertise using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Advanced expertise using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), Sketch-up, and Revit.
