Position Summary

The Interior Studio Lead – Special Projects is a design professional with a thorough knowledge of Interior Design and Interior Architecture practices and building systems as they related to interior design. The role oversees a team of interior designers focused on Special Projects under the direction of the Design Director and is responsible for delivery of multiple projects in design and construction. Special Projects include, but are not limited to the retrofit of existing buildings to meet Life Time brand, aesthetic and quality. The role is also responsible actively leading the interior design of at least 1 project in addition to overseeing the team of designers. This role is also responsible for directing the team to adhere to department-wide processes and industry best practices and that the team implements and achieves strategic goals as directed and approved by the Interior Design Director and SVP of Architecture & Design.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Support and collaborate with the vision and leadership of the SVP of Architecture and Design, Interior Design Director and internal partners on all aspects of the Interiors practice
Active participant with the Pre-Design Team meetings and plan review during PIM and POM
Actively work on at least (1) project at any given time
Oversee and participate in the overall management of the studio, in collaboration with Interior Designer Director
Ensure the adherence of design, finish, and furniture standards and guidelines as directed by Design Director
Work in partnership with Director – Architecture and Project Management and Director – Architecture Prototype to enforce the Project Management Checklist
Assist/mentor team with documents, details, specifications and selections as needed ​
Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
5 to 10 years of related experience
Proven, advanced Revit, Procore, SharePoint, and Bluebeam skillsets
Proven experience and skills managing and mentoring multiple teammates
Adhere to Life Time Best Practices
Proven leadership skills
Strong leadership, communication and relationship management
