Quartersawn Design|Build is accepting applications for a full-time experienced residential Designer / Architect to lead multiple sophisticated design projects in the $500K – $1.5M range from initial conception through project construction. At Quartersawn, our passion is creating high quality, design-led, bespoke residential remodeling experiences. We specialize in major upgrades to older homes in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Key Responsibilities: Lead sophisticated design for multiple projects from initial conception through project construction Generate creative designs and develop detailed, coordinated drawing sets and specifications. Develop creative solutions to homeowner’s housing desires/needs. Enhance the Homeowner’s experience by providing clear, timely, and accurate communication. Effectively communicate with municipalities, trade partners and the Quartersawn Team. Design to the Homeowner’s stated budget and within their allocated design budget. Consult and work with a Quartersawn Project Manager and a Field Superintendent on each project. 

Position Requirements: 10+ years of experience creating coordinated drawings sets for new custom homes and residential remodeling projects Must be well versed in construction details and architectural design Ability to collaborate with other Design staff and oversee them on projects Ability to guide Homeowners through the design/build process Comfortable and effective in communicating creative ideas visually and verbally Experience with interior detailing and finishes is required Team orientated with the ability to take direction and work independently interchangeably Ability to work efficiently and strategically. A degree in architecture is highly valued but not required. Prior hands-on building experience is a huge plus.
