Description

Positively impacting people is the most important thing we do. We use architecture and space design to help people thrive as they come together—around discovery, innovation, collaboration, care, hands-on learning, and joy. Our multi-disciplinary practice combines architecture, interiors, environmental graphics, data technology, research, sustainability, computational design, and fabrication to create high performing environments that positively impact the well-being of people and the planet.

GBBN seeks an experienced, licensed Project Architect to lead multi-disciplinary teams in delivering these kinds of projects with excellence. Based in our Minneapolis office in the vibrant Northeast Arts district, this role will work closely and collaboratively with project teams across our other US office locations in Cincinnati, Louisville, and Pittsburgh. A successful Project Architect balances design vision, technical expertise, and project management to deliver high-quality architectural solutions that meet client and firm expectations. In partnership with the Project Manager and Project Designer, the Project Architect leads the team throughout the process to meet client needs while balancing project and design goals, schedules, and budget.

In this role you’ll:
  • Collaborate with the Project Leadership Team to understand the client’s business objectives and translate those objectives to the project team and ensure that the goals for the project, team and work-plan are met.
  • Innovate concepts that solve client challenges in unexpected ways.
  • Intentionally shape the client experience throughout the project, build relationships with key contacts and guide them through the process
  • Own relationships with contractors and consultants; lead coordination and resolve field issues during all project phases
  • Serve as a mentor for others in the organization in sharing knowledge with the entire office on design standards, practices, and policies
  • Contribute to business development by establishing confidence with clients and seeking opportunities for follow up business for each project.
  • Advance the sustainability and resiliency of our work. 10+ years of experience
