JLG Architects is seeking a Project Designer….As a JLG Project Designer, you will be responsible for establishing the problem statement, articulating the design vision, and embracing the philosophy of integrated design. Your process is collaborative, engaging the entire project team and the owner, in the execution of award-winning designs that meet the goals established for the project. As a Project Designer, you will be an ambassador for design and design thinking — both on projects and at large for JLG.
A JLG Project Designer:
— Is educated. You have earned a professional degree in Architecture, are licensed or on track to licensure, LEED® AP desired, and have acquired 3–5+ years of experience, with a strong design portfolio including executed projects demonstrating design excellence.
— Is a strong communicator. You have strong verbal and graphic communication skills to lead design workshops and the overall decision-making process.
— Is experienced. You have working knowledge of building codes, building science, materials, and construction costs – using that knowledge to inform design decisions and direction. You have an advanced understanding of all phases of design, including the ability to guide programming processes.
— Is software savvy. You have excellent analog and digital imaging skills, including fluency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office suite. You are also familiar with Sefaira, Sketchup, Rhino, and Grasshopper.
— Is an environmental steward. You consider yourself a steward of clients’ and the planet’s resources. In-depth experience with the implementation of sustainable design principles is highly valued.
