Project Manager – Facility Planner

HealthPartners has an exciting opportunity for a Facility Project Manager. This role is responsible for helping develop yearly project capital budgets and the management of those project budgets through each fiscal year. This is done with multiple consultants on multiple projects at one time through the year. The process includes managing the programing, space planning, design, and construction documents. This position also acts as the owner representative who manages the construction portion of the project, and facilitates and manages the move-in. •Manages design and construction of remodels, renovations or new facilities including: •Works with the internal user team to understand and define the scope.
•Writes the program and goals for the project.
•Develops the project budget and reviews with Facilities Director; is responsible for completing project within budget.
•In collaboration with Director, engages the appropriate design and construction consultants.
•Develops schedule and is responsible for bringing project in on time.
•Facilitates and manages the design process to ensure users needs are met within budget constraints.
•Coordinates non-construction items including IS & T, signage, security, artwork, equipment, and furniture purchase or refurbishing within the project scope. Manages these items during construction and install for each project.
•Uses the electronic Data Base to document and store information on this project for six (6) years.
•Participates in punch list.
•Surveys the users and staff regarding the goals of the project.
•Closes out the financials on the project.
•Participates in the upcoming year’s capital budget process by working up requests and pricing those projects.
•Evaluates the work of external vendors in the construction, interior building, and furniture industries and recommends companies with which a partnership would be beneficial.
•Participate in development of design and material guidelines or standards for HealthPartners healthcare facilities.
•Research facilities related data solutions that support the Care Delivery Model, the prepared practice team, process improvement, privacy, and promote green and sustainable products when appropriate.
•Manages special assignments and projects as directed by the Director of Facility Development and Space Planning and depending on degree or expertise, may provide services to projects managed by other project managers.
•Actively participates in the creation, update, and ongoing testing of business continuity and disaster recovery planning and preparation.
•Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum qualifications needed for this position)
•Bachelor’s Degree, Degree in Interior design / Architecture or 5 years of medical operations management experience.
•3-5 years of experience in construction project management.
•Computer skills for developing programs, budgets, GANT charts, and graphics.
•Ability to express self well verbally and written English.
•Experience in both hospital and ambulatory care operations and familiarity with medical and clerical equipment.
•Competent in using AutoCad / Revit
•MN State Certification in Interior Design or Architectural registration
•Experience in operations, programming, and the design process of hospital and ambulatory care facilities.
•Certification, Training and experience in Lean Design, 3P, and PMP
DECISION-MAKING: (What rules or precedents limit the activities and authority of this position? What types of problems or decisions are referred to the supervisor?)
•Approve all expenditures for capital projects, engages architects and contractors for the project.
•Recommend to the Director, capital and some operating cost budget for the department.
