Senior Architectural Designer

Konik PrimeStaff has partnered with a mid-sized Architectural firm in need of a Senior Architectural Designer. The Senior Architectural Designer will work under the direction of a Project Manager for an expanding client base in the sectors of retail, restaurant, and commercial projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to be groomed into a Project Lead role and take on more responsibility. Responsibilities for the Senior Architectural Designer:
– Lead, plan, produce and organize Construction Documents for obtaining building permits and construction
– Produce construction documents under the direction of the Architect or Project Manager
– Develop and implement building shell design into construction documentation
– Actively research product solutions, design concepts, and program requirements
– Develop and improve templates for repeat clients
– Train new designers on office standards
– Analyze building codes, by-laws, space, and site requirements to determine the impact on projects
– Perform Energy Code Analysis
– Perform Site Assessment Reviews/Field Survey
– Coordination with engineering consultants
– Perform due diligence to assist in understanding permitting requirements and establish a project timeline
– Complete permit plan review applications and submittals
– Detail and Materials Research & Implementation

Qualifications for the Senior Architectural Designer:
– Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
– 5+ years of experience with commercial building projects
– Experience leading construction document process
– Have a knowledgeable understanding of construction means, methods, and building techniques
– Experience with construction documents for new construction & tenant improvement projects
– Knowledge of steel and masonry building structures and detailing (CMU, precast, tilt-wall, brick, light gauge framing, EIFS, stucco, curtain wall, storefront systems)
– Proficiency with REVIT and Microsoft Office
– Rendering experience with Enscape or SketchUp is a plus
– Ability to work within a fast-paced, highly detailed environment
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
