Sr. Project Architect

This position is responsible for the preparation of architectural conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents.
We are looking for a motivated architect to collaborate with the existing architecture team and internal engineering disciplines on projects in the pharmaceutical/life science, industrial manufacturing, food/beverage, chemical, and agribusiness markets. We specialize in code studies for chemical processing and hazardous occupancies. This position is responsible in the preparation of architectural conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents.
-A minimum of 15 years’ experience related to architectural construction documentation.
-Master’s in architecture from an accredited program, or equivalent. Current professional licensure in one state is required, with capabilities to obtain licensure in all 50 states.
-Must have capabilities in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite. Navisworks experience preferred.
-Understanding of sustainable design is preferred, LEED certification is desirable but not required.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Strong interpersonal skills.
-Staff mentoring and leadership experience preferred.
-Manage the construction administration of assigned projects; handles problems and questions as they occur during construction.
-Preparation of architectural conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documents.
-Must exhibit a high level of skills as required to balance numerous and simultaneous projects with the ability to meet deadlines.
-Perform all applicable code studies including energy analysis, building code, ADA, hazard analysis.
-Experience working with a multi-discipline team that is performing a sequence of tasks.
-Prepares and checks the accuracy of contract documents, construction drawings and specifications.
-Incorporates applicable codes, construction techniques and sequences in projects, including substantial knowledge in all aspects of cross disciplines.
-Supervises and/or performs site observations such as recording and reporting of existing conditions and construction progress.
-Responsible for project budget, scheduling, and deliverable deadlines though positive motivation of team, adjusting procedures as necessary to obtain targets.
-Responsible for external communications such as making telephone calls and preparing correspondence to clients, officials, and contractors as required by various projects.
-Performs building code reviews and prepares applications.
-Assists with major design decisions, involving spatial, aesthetic elements and detailing of materials.
-Documents project progression of correspondence, calculations, additional services, etc. in an organized manner.
-Follows projects from proposal stage through construction. Initiates contact with client and code/city officials.
-Knowledge of estimating project needs and capable of translating them into budget hours and costs.
-Experience in Life Science, Food/Beverage, and Industrial Manufacturing markets is required.
-Contributes to business development including attending conferences, creating presentations and presenting services to current and potential customers.
-Other responsibilities, as assigned.
