Entry-Level Structural Engineer LHB is looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer to join our team in our Duluth or Minneapolis, MN offices! We are looking for someone with a strong passion in what they do, who will proudly represent LHB’s Core Values and Core Focus areas: Core Values: Healthy Relationships: Caring/Humble, Empathy, Honest/Trust, Personable Technical Excellence: Highest Quality, Craftsmanship, Creative, Design Dedicated: Family, Each Other, Work, Community Listen First: Know our Client, Call Out Issues, Question the Status Quo, Be Change Agent, Be Flexible Core Focus: Purpose:  Improving the Future by Design Our Niche:  Tomorrow’s Design Today Position Summary:   The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: Work effectively in hybrid work environment Prepare structural design calculations and drawings under guidance of an experienced engineer Participate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetings Communicate effectively and respectfully with design team Assist with and direct project drafting Assist with construction site visits and field observations, RFI’s, and submittals Meet client objectives, and exceed their expectations Assist with written technical reports  Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam Valid driver’s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications: Prior structural engineering experience including concrete and steel design Passed or ability to take Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) Exam Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAAD Experience in using AutoCAD and/or Revit Experience with industry, building, and design codes Experience with proposal preparation Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities MSHA Certification Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy Ability to work on multiple tasks, respond positively to feedback, and an openness and desire to learn Good oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability  Benefits: Paid Holidays Paid Time Off Medical and Dental HSA/FSA (Medical and Dependent Care) Basic Life and AD&D Employee Assistance Plan 401k  Required Submittals: Resume LHB is a multi-disciplinary engineering, architecture, and planning firm known for our design leadership and loyalty to clients.
