Do you interact with City or County officials in the course of your architecture practice? Over the past two legislative sessions, there have been significant changes to the rules and definitions governing lobbying. AIA Minnesota worked with legislators to better clarify lobbying laws and mitigate the potential impacts on the architecture profession but some interactions with local governments may still require you to register as a lobbyist in certain circumstances.

Jeff Sigurdson, Executive Director of the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board, will share updated rules and regulations to help you understand how and when your communications with local government officials may constitute lobbying that requires registration with the board. Join this session to hear about the updated regulations and ask your questions to get clarification on how they may impact your day-to-day practice.
