Description

Seeking confident architectural designer with independent highly custom Residential project design and management skills, knowledge of cold climate detailing and Construction Documentation experience. Personal communication skills, interest in storytelling, and construction site comfort or familiarity a must, with passion for site- inspired design and intimate inside/ outside material and spatial development. Projects are often remote north and south shore Lake Superior region, with richly expressive and unique, topographically challenging sites. Downtown Duluth office is a very pleasant and open environment integrated with LUMstudio- a curated, European LED lighting studio and storefront. Highly regarded firm with work FINALLY picking up!. Close to Lakewalk, lakeshore, restaurants, distillaries and breweries. Bikable City.

Masters of Architecture desired. License not required. Experience cherished. Curiosity and willingness to debate and discuss unconventional approaches to function and form, is an asset. Ability to occasionally mentor less experienced but educated anticipated new designer also appreciated. AutoCAD (primary) proficiency required and Sketchup (secondary) proficiency a plus.

Salary is based on experience and I will try very hard to meet your expectations. You will be happy here on Lake Superior, fairly paid, and I am negotiable. Health insurance, retirement, and vacation days to start. Willing to discuss housing and/or moving stipend. We have a very fine local and regional reputation, which includes well-researched product procurement for projects to reduce contractor markup costs and deliver the highest quality materials for our works.
