Job Description:
As a Store Experience Architecture Planning Intern, you’ll be an integral part of the Architectural Planning team, directly contributing to the success of Best Buy’s Real Estate initiatives. This hands-on internship offers the opportunity to develop and manage store-specific documentation, ensure code compliance, and support the seamless execution of strategic projects. You’ll collaborate with seasoned professionals and gain firsthand insight into how architectural planning shapes the in-store experience and reinforces our brand identity across the country. In this role, you will gain insights into how we approach many challenges associated with being one of the nation’s leading retailers. This internship also will give you the opportunity to develop industry-related skills in a professional environment, network with Best Buy employees and explore a wide variety of career paths.

This internship will be available from June to August 2026. It is a hybrid role, meaning you must be located within a drivable distance to our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You will be asked to come into the office 3 days per week. This internship has the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity.
Housing Note: A limited number of company-sponsored summer housing slots are available near corporate headquarters for non-local candidates.

What you’ll do 
  • Support the Territory Senior Manager across key project phases, including Developing project concept drawings and assessing impact at both individual store and multi-store levels
  • Drafting comprehensive Scope of Work documentation
  • Preparing and issuing Architectural RFPs
  • Reviewing and redlining construction documents for accuracy and compliance
  • Managing project tracking systems and implementing revision/change logs
  • Documenting team processes to support operational consistency
  • Creating prototype drawings and architectural details to guide future builds

Basic Qualifications 
  • Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, graduating between fall 2026 and spring 2027
  • Must be able to work in the Richfield, MN corporate office 3 days a week, Tuesday through Thursday
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5pm (Central Time)
  • Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/1/2026- 8/7/2026
  • Must be able to commit to being no more than 2 hours driving distance from the Minneapolis Corporate Campus – 7601 Penn Ave South Richfield, MN 55423
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc., will not be considered) 

Preferred Qualifications 
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Architecture or a related field
  • AutoCAD knowledge
  • REVIT knowledge
