AIA Minnesota’s local chapters recently negotiated a partnership with BuildingGreen, Inc., a Vermont-based company helping architects, designers, and other sustainability professionals make their projects greener and healthier by providing consulting and training services, facilitating peer networks for sustainability leaders, and offering continuing education and access to an online knowledge base.
The partnership is being led by AIA Minneapolis in collaboration with AIA Northern Minnesota and AIA St. Paul, and aligns with AIA Minnesota’s new strategic workplan initiative to focus more resources on sustainability and climate action by accelerating the application of sustainable design practices and removing barriers to implementing design solutions that prioritize human and ecological health.
There are two ways for members to take advantage of the BuildingGreen partnership. You may choose to participate in one or both.
Participate in the free two-day workshop on November 8-9
Sustainable Entry Points for Small Firms is a hands-on experience offering an overview of several different ways to develop sustainable design capabilities along with opportunities for participants to identify the challenges they face in this realm while collaborating on ways to address them. You can view a recorded overview of the workshop here.
After the workshop concludes, participants will have the option to continue as a cohort and work as a group to develop the knowledge and skills needed to successfully win and deliver sustainable design projects. Workshop facilitators will offer 6 monthly one-hour online sessions to engage the cohort on their work and provide advice and input.
