The 40th Annual Search for Shelter Design Charrette takes place between in-person events on February 21 and 28, 2026, with teams and agencies working virtually or in person as they choose. It kicks off Saturday with an opening program where projects are introduced and it concludes the following Saturday with final design presentations. 

SFS is currently seeking projects from organizations in need of design assistance. Past projects have included a redesigned building entry, a new lobby, and revitalization ideas for empty lots. The resulting designs have enhanced the already amazing work local organizations are doing in the housing industry.

To submit a project for consideration, simply complete the online application byFriday, January 23, 2026.
