About the AIA St. Paul Chapter

The AIA St. Paul Chapter serves more than 400 members in St. Paul and across the southeast quadrant of Minnesota, including the Rochester area. We provide opportunities for leadership, networking, and public outreach throughout the year. 

Volunteer leaders of the chapter organize the St. Paul Prize competition, which addresses design challenges of the AIA St. Paul region and lifts up the innovative thinking and design talent of early-career architecture professionals.

We also put on events throughout the year to advance knowledge, spark conversation, and promote connection among members of the architecture community. Scholarships and student activities are financially supported by AIA St. Paul for the architecture programs at Dunwoody and the University of Minnesota.

A delegation from the AIA St. Paul chapter joins with the other local and state chapters for the annual Day on the Hill in DC, sharing concerns with Congressional staff and members..

AIA Minneapolis provides scholarships to students enrolled in Minnesota's NAAB-accredited architecture programs.

Saint Paul Prize Design Competition

An annual design competition that celebrates and recognizes innovative ideas from the next generation of design professionals. Since its inception, the competition has been open exclusively to emerging professionals living and working in Minnesota, providing a platform to showcase their creativity and vision.

Saint Paul Prize

This design competition brings forward the exceptional design skills of Emerging Professionals in Minnesota to address a spatial challenge in the AIA St. Paul’s geographic region. Committee members work with community leaders to select the site and develop the prompt. They engage with entrants and their work through the selection process and the celebrations that follow.
