Every member — whether a new graduate, associate member, registered architect, or emeritus — belongs to the national AIA, the AIA Minnesota state chapter, and a local chapter: AIA Minneapolis, AIA Northern Minnesota, or AIA St. Paul.

Individuals possessing a valid U.S. Architecture license. Members are strongly encouraged to convey the states in which they are licensed in their communications and branding.
Individuals with a professional degree in architecture, working under the supervision of an architect, or are enrolled in AXP. Minnesota and local chapter dues are reduced for the first and second years after the free 18-month period.
Open to first-time AIA members who have recently graduated with a professional degree in architecture within the past 18 months.
Individuals possessing a valid non-U.S. Architecture license.
Companies and individuals working in a field related to the practice of architecture.
