In this program, attendees will learn the basic ethical rules which apply to Licensed Design Professionals and apply those rules to hypothetical situations. We will focus on WI and MN, but these ethical rules mirror the codes of conduct in most states. Actual ethical situations which Design Professionals face in modern practice will be presented such as multi-jurisdictional practice, departures of certifiers, conflicts of interest, plan certification, ethical marketing, and licensing compliance.

Design Professionals can be faced with ethical situations in their work that impact the public health, safety, and welfare. These situations can occur between Design Professional and the public, client, employer, other professionals, and other third parties. It is the Design Professional’s responsibility and fundamental obligation to hold paramount the public health, safety, and welfare. This program will identify ethical issues Design Professionals can encounter and how to maintain an ethical practice.
