AIA St. Paul invites architectural designers and architects within 10 years of graduating from an accredited professional degree program to participate in the St. Paul Prize Design Competition. This annual competition celebrates and recognizes innovative ideas by young design professionals. 

Eligibility

Individuals must meet both requirements in order to be eligible for participation:

  1. Must be within 10 years of graduating from an accredited professional degree program with either a B.Arch or M.Arch degree
  2. Must live or work in Minnesota
Entrants may participate individually or in teams of two participants.
Previous recipients are no longer eligible to participate.

Entry Fee

There is no entry fee for the AIA St. Paul Prize.

Prize

Compete alongside fellow emerging designers for a chance to win $3,000. As an added honor, the winner(s) will receive an exclusive invitation to present at AIA St. Paul’s Food for Thought seminar, set for the first quarter of 2024.

Submission Materials

Submittals will be accepted electronically as PDF or JPEG files, 300 dpi minimum resolution, in the form of two 24″x36″ digital project boards. See competition brief for full requirements.

Judging

All entry participant names are anonymous during the judging. Jury members may include AIA St. Paul members, architects, members of the AIA St. Paul Board, previous competition winners, local artists, or city/community representatives.

Registration

Registration for the 2024 competition is expected to open in October 2024.
