Description
Winther, Johnson, Robinson, Inc. (WJR) is seeking an experienced, licensed architect to join our firm as we enter an exciting new phase of growth. We are an interior design and architecture firm providing services in corporate office design, educational facility design, medical facility design, retail design, facility planning and tenant development. We’re looking for a collaborative professional eager to contribute, lead, and grow with us. This role offers leadership opportunities and a potential path to future ownership.
Responsibilities
- Partner with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to understand project goals, priorities, and vision

Contribute to the development of construction documents, specifications, and project deliverables with a focus on quality and consistency

Develop and present design proposals, renderings, and presentations to clients and stakeholders

Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility standards, and safety requirements

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, contractors, and design team, to develop innovative and practical design solutions

Review and approve technical drawings, material selections, and construction details
Participate in site visits and construction meetings to address questions, resolve challenges, and maintain alignment among project teams

Foster strong client relationships by providing responsive communication and trusted design guidance

Share expertise and mentor team members, contributing to a culture of learning, collaboration, and professional growth
Required skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in architecture leading to 1st Professional Degree

3-5 or more years of experience in architectural design

Architecture License in Minnesota

Knowledge of and experience with local building codes, ADA compliance, zoning regulations, and other laws applicable to design and construction

Working knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite
